The 2023 Symposium on User-Facility Network in Asia was successfully held in Tokyo Big Sight at Room 609, Conference Tower on 2nd February 2023 via hybrid (online/onsite) event. The main objectives for this symposium are to share information on user-facility activities and advanced nanofab, nanobio and nano characterization technologies in Asia. The opening remarks was given by Dr. Yasuo Koide as a coordinator of user-facility working group under Asia Nano Forum and concluded by Dr. Ruslinda A.Rahim as co-coordinator. There were six speakers from different economy country were invited such as Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Iran. The first and second speaker from Japan, Dr. Uchibori from NIMS shared on Advanced Research Infrastructure for Materials and Nanotechnology (ARIM) activities, action plan and ARIM business model on ‘Hub and Spokes’. Meanwhile Dr. Tsuchiya from Kyoto University shared their nanotechnology facilities and gave an example on the mechanism of ARIM business model operated lead by Kyoto University as a Hub and collaboration with other universities as a Spokes. On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Rafie Johan from Malaysia as third speaker was sharing NANOCAT functionality, achievement and contribution towards R&D nanotechnology facilities, scientific communities and nation. The forth speakers, Dr Pavadee and Dr Deanpen both from NANOTEC Thailand shared their roles to add value to four major industries such as agriculture and food, energy, materials and biochemicals, digital and electronics and health and wellness. NANOTEC Thailand also shared their recent user facility network project between Japan-NANOTEC. Dr. Persia Ada Yro from Philippines shared the role of Industry Technology Development Institute under Materials Science Division that focusing in Advanced Materials, Special Materials and Surface Engineering. Philippines also actively participates in Nanosafety activities whereby currently there is Philippines 70 National Standards on Nanotechnology. Last speaker was Mr. Mojtaba Nasab from Iran High Tech Laboratory Network shared on their establishment on Laboratory Network in Iran or so called LABSNET. It has 280 institutes/research center, 8 Technology Park/Incubators, 516 Private companies and 667 universities were listed under this network.
